Safaricom today officially welcomed the Arsenal Fan TV (AFTV) team to Kenya, marking the start of the five-day AFTV Kenya Tour with a press briefing at the Serena Hotel.
The event celebrated Kenya’s vibrant football culture while reaffirming Safaricom’s commitment to nurturing grassroots talent and empowering the next generation of football storytellers.
Speaking during the event, AFTV Founder Robbie Lyle said Kenya’s passion for football made it a natural destination for the tour, particularly after the remarkable celebrations witnessed across Nairobi following Arsenal’s English Premier League triumph last season.
He noted that AFTV is committed to telling authentic football stories that connect communities and showcase the passion that makes the game a global language.

Safaricom Partnership With AFTV
Zizwe Awuor, Director, Brand & Marketing, Safaricom, said the partnership with AFTV reflects the company’s belief in football’s ability to transform lives by connecting local talent to global opportunities while creating new avenues for digital storytelling.
“At Safaricom, we have always believed that great talent begins at the grassroots. Through Chapa Dimba na Safaricom, we have seen young people grow from community pitches to representing Kenya on the continental stage. Our partnership with AFTV helps amplify those stories, inspire the next generation and give Kenyan football greater visibility beyond our borders. said Awuor.
In addition, Awuor said the initiative is intended to inspire a new generation of content creators to tell these stories.
“Beyond the players, we also want to inspire a new generation of content creators to tell these stories. Football today is experienced as much through digital content as it is from the stands.
“That is why we recently launched our Pata More proposition, giving customers more data for the same price. With 1000 bob, you can now get 21GB in the monthly package. We want to empower young creators to share and celebrate the moments that matter most,” She said.
