Mohit Mediratta is heading into the second leg of the PGK Equator Tour with growing confidence as the competition moves to Thika Sports Club from Thursday, 21st to Sunday, 24th.
Mediratta arrives in strong form following an overall victory in the opening leg of the second edition, staged in April at Vet Lab Sports Club, therefore, gaining momentum heading into the par – 72 test.
The Safaricom-backed golfer heads into the second leg in high spirits after emerging as the overall winner in the opening leg of the second edition held in April at Vet Lab Sports Club.
The golfer delivered a remarkable performance in the opener, highlighted by a memorable hole-in-one that proved pivotal in securing his win and setting the tone for the tournament.

Speaking during a training session ahead of the tournament, the golfer remained confident about his form, even with the growing pressure to defend his lead.
He also highlighted the team’s determination to maintain its position at the top of the corporate standings.
“I am keen to continue with the strong performance as we head to the second leg of the PGK Tour this week. The pressure is there, but I am looking forward to the challenge. As part of the corporate team supported by Safaricom, I am hopeful that we will retain the top corporate title.” Mohit said.

Mohit Opening Round Victory
Ahead of the second leg, the Sigona-based, Safaricom-sponsored golfer was crowned overall winner of the opening round of the second edition of the tour.
This followed a standout performance at the April event held at Vet Lab Sports Club, highlighted by a remarkable hole-in-one.
He described the achievement as a rare moment in any golfer’s career and attributed his strong showing to the preseason break.
Additionally, he expressed his commitment to staying at the top alongside his team and maintaining his form throughout the season.

PGK Equator Tour Continues Road to 2028 Olympics
The PGK Equator Tour, now in its second edition, continues to play a key role on the road to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
In addition, the series serves as a pre-qualifier for Kenyan professional golfers aiming to compete at the Magical Kenya Open.
The second edition of the PGK Equator Tour kicked off in April and will run until February 2027, culminating in a grand finale scheduled for the same month.
The Thika leg will see over 50 professional golfers battle it out for top honors, including the corporate category title.
Among those expected to challenge for the leaderboard is a strong Safaricom-backed contingent comprising Mutahi Kibugu, Samuel Njoroge, and Matthew Wahome.
