Public Sensitization and Community Cooperation

Beyond arrests and other enforcement measures, security agencies have also stepped up efforts to raise community awareness about the dangers of goonism.

Mutonya highlighted these efforts, saying, “We have been going round and sensitizing the members of the public the effects and consequences of goonism.”

He also expressed the security team’s willingness to collaborate with relevant bodies, including the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), to address goonism and promote peaceful political engagement.

Through these initiatives, residents are being encouraged to reject violence, intimidation and other criminal activities that threaten peace and public safety.

Meanwhile, authorities have emphasized the importance of working with the public, using intelligence to guide investigations and maintaining consistent law enforcement to protect lives and property across the region.

To support the ongoing crackdown, the DCI has urged members of the public to report suspected criminal activities through its designated reporting channels, assuring them that information can be provided anonymously.
