Kenya Airways (KQ) has partnered with Safaricom to make flight booking available to more than 57 million Safaricom subscribers through Safaricom’s OneApp.
The partnership will allow customers to search, book and pay for flights through Safaricom’s OneApp, a platform they already use every day.
Additionally, the integration enables customers to access Kenya Airways services directly within the app, eliminating the need to switch between multiple platforms during the booking process.
To celebrate the launch, customers will enjoy a 15% discount on international flights and a 10% discount on domestic flights, subject to applicable terms and conditions for journeys originating from Kenya.
Commenting on the partnership, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at Kenya Airways, Julius Thairu, noted that the collaboration would make travel more accessible and convenient for millions of Kenyans by bringing flight booking closer to customers through Safaricom’s digital platform.
“This partnership is about more than booking flights. It is about bringing the world closer to our customers. By combining Kenya Airways global network with Safaricom’s unparalleled digital reach, we are making travel more accessible, convenient and relevant to millions of Kenyans.” Thairu said.

Thairu further highlighted the role of technology in streamlining the travel experience and removing barriers to travel.
“Together, we are leveraging technology to remove barriers to travel while creating a seamless experience from search and booking to payment. As Kenya’s national carrier, we are proud to partner with another iconic Kenyan brand to connect people, businesses and opportunities across Africa and the world.” He added.
Expanding Access Through OneApp
Beyond the commercial partnership, the collaboration brings together two Kenyan brands with a shared commitment to connecting people and opportunities.
Additionally, the partnership combines Kenya Airways’ global connectivity with Safaricom’s digital ecosystem, creating a bridge between travel planning and payment.
Through this integration, customers can access Kenya Airways’ network across Africa and beyond through My OneApp, including connections available through the airline’s codeshare partnerships and SkyTeam Alliance membership, which extends access to more than 1,000 destinations in 173 countries worldwide.
Moreover, customers can use M-PESA, Kenya’s preferred digital payment solution, to complete flight bookings within the same platform.

It demonstrates how two homegrown brands can combine their strengths to create solutions that connect customers to opportunities, whether within Kenya, across Africa or around the world.
Beyond convenience, the collaboration also supports greater accessibility to air travel by bringing flight search, booking and payment into a digital ecosystem already used daily by millions of customers.
By reducing friction in the travel-planning process, the partnership helps make travel more accessible to a broader segment of consumers while strengthening Kenya’s position as a regional hub for innovation, connectivity and commerce.
